March Break Camp - Week 1 - Day 1

We usually like to start off a Week of Camp by getting our bearings, gearing up and settling in. Monday was a perfect day of that. With a bit of wet weather in the morning it set the perfect scene to stay inside and learn about healthy food and our bodies with Lindsey from Real Food for Real Kids and Be Vibrant Wellness Consulting.

Lindsey set the scene for our workshop by asking us all to wash our hands. “Clean hands, clean food!” Once we were ready she made us all body detectives! And how did she do that? She taught us all that we can use our eyes to see our food, our noses to smell our food, our hands to touch our food and our mouths to taste our food.

Lindsey took us on a journey learning about all different kinds of fruits and vegetables and how much fun we can have eating them and most importantly, how necessary they are for us all to be and stay healthy!

With green beans (and yes, the children ate them, there is proof in the photos!), grape tomatoes, carrots, cauliflower, cabbage and some homemade dip compliments of RFRK we all were able to craft funny faces with our food.

And the best part of all, we ate them when we were finished!

Thanks to Lindsey, RFRK and Be Vibrant Wellness Consulting for enabling us to have Lindsey into our school!
